when you multiply 3 1/4 by a number greater than one how does the product compare to 3 1/4

First here is an example.... 3 1/4 x 2 = 6 1/4 ..... So.. you compare that (subtract) by subtracting 3 1/4 and two.. You subtract the whole numbers and the fraction stays the same.
