Answer: The correct answer is :  Feudalism was a political system where legally the king was the owner of the whole earth. The king granted fiefs or portions of land to the nobles, also called lords or barons in exchange for loyalty, protection and military service. Each lord raised an army to defend his fief and serve the king when necessary.
